Distribution of 40,000 Qur'ans Completed in North Sumatra
The Al-Qur’an Waqf Agency (BWA) has finalised the final stage of distributing 40,000 Qur’an copies in North Sumatra Province. The distribution and handover ceremony took place at the Agung Dairi Mosque in Sidikalang, conducted with great solemnity and community enthusiasm.
The event commenced with a nasyid performance by students, which was warmly received by the local community. The religious atmosphere reflected the gratitude for the arrival of thousands of Qur’an copies destined for various regions across North Sumatra.
During the event, the Deputy Regent of Dairi, Wahyu Daniel Sagala, offered advice on the importance of the Qur’an as a guide for Muslim life. He expressed full support for the distribution programme, noting its alignment with efforts to foster a Qur’anic generation and support the regional Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur’an (MTQ) in Sidikalang.
“The Qur’an is a source of knowledge, guidance, and civilisation. Its presence must become closer to the community, especially the younger generation. This programme provides tangible support for the development of recitation and Qur’anic understanding in the region,” said Wahyu Daniel Sagala in his address.
The event concluded with remarks from the CEO of the Al-Qur’an Waqf Agency (BWA), Ichsan Salam, who expressed gratitude for the successful completion of the distribution programme in North Sumatra. He explained that from 2021 to 2026, BWA has distributed a total of 200,000 Qur’an copies across various areas in North Sumatra as part of its commitment to bringing the Qur’an to the most remote parts of the country.
“Alhamdulillah, the distribution of this final phase of 40,000 copies marks the achievement of our target to distribute 200,000 Qur’ans in North Sumatra during the 2021–2026 period. We hope that every distributed copy serves as a source of blessing, strengthens Islamic education, and helps produce a generation that loves and practices the Qur’an,” stated Ichsan Salam.
BWA expressed its profound appreciation and gratitude to all parties that contributed to the success of this distribution programme, particularly PT Humala, Maharani Trans, Synthesa Herbal, Galena Logistik, field partners, and local preachers who collaborated in the distribution process across North Sumatra. Through strong collaboration between various stakeholders, BWA hopes that the spirit of promoting the Qur’an will continue to grow and provide widespread benefits to the Indonesian people.
