Distribution Conditions Improve, Fuel Supply in West Sumatra Returns to Normal
Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Sumbagut has confirmed that fuel (BBM) distribution in West Sumatra has returned to stability as conditions on main distribution routes improve. Various efforts to accelerate distribution, supported by increasingly conducive traffic conditions, have allowed tanker trucks to reach petrol stations with more optimal travel times.
Pertamina Patra Niaga continues to strive to provide fuel distribution services to the public despite facing a number of challenges in the field. These challenges included repairs to access roads along distribution routes, road narrowing, and landslides at several points. Despite these obstacles, Pertamina continues to optimise operational reinforcement and distribution acceleration to ensure the community’s energy needs in West Sumatra are met.
Area Manager Communication, Relations & CSR Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Sumbagut, Fahrougi Andriani Sumampouw, stated that the company is maximising all resources to meet the public’s energy needs. “We are committed to maintaining reliable energy supplies for the community. Now, as distribution route conditions improve at several points, the fuel distribution process is also running more smoothly. Pertamina continues to operate all distribution facilities at maximum capacity to ensure supplies across the entire West Sumatra region are maintained,” said Fahrougi.
To accelerate the normalisation process, Pertamina deployed 25 additional tanker trucks through a spot charter scheme to increase distribution capacity to various areas in West Sumatra. In addition, the Teluk Kabung Integrated Terminal is operating 24 hours a day to ensure the receipt, storage, and distribution of fuel runs optimally.
These efforts are strengthened through synergy with local governments, law enforcement agencies, Hiswana Migas, and other stakeholders, including support for tanker truck escorts on priority routes. Pertamina is also continuously managing distribution patterns, monitoring stock at all Fuel Terminals and petrol stations, and adjusting delivery schedules to maintain effective distribution during the normalisation process.
As access to Bungus and the Sitinjau Lauik and Lembah Anai routes improves, tanker truck travel times to petrol stations are now approaching normal conditions. This has resulted in increasingly stable fuel distribution, ensuring the energy needs of communities across West Sumatra can continue to be met.
Fahrougi added that the success in maintaining distribution reliability is the result of collaboration among all parties to ensure the community’s energy needs are fulfilled. “We appreciate the support from local governments, law enforcement, Hiswana Migas, and all stakeholders who continue to synergise with Pertamina. This collaboration is a key factor in maintaining smooth distribution so that fuel supplies to the public can return to stability,” Fahrougi added.
