Distance Learning in Lampung Ends; Students to Return to Normal Schooling Tomorrow

The Governor of Lampung, Rahmat Mirzani Djausal, has stated that starting Friday, 11 September 2026, students in the region will return to normal schooling.

“Classes resume on Friday, and students will immediately perform the Istisqa prayer at their respective schools,” said Rahmat Mirzani Djausal in Bandar Lampung on Thursday, 11 September 2026.

He noted that the return to normal teaching and learning activities follows the latest decision by the Lampung Provincial Government, which had extended distance learning due to volcanic ash from the eruption of Mount Anak Krakatau until Thursday, 10 September 2026.

Furthermore, the latest reports on the eruption of Mount Anak Krakatau indicate that conditions are beginning to improve, with winds no longer being excessively strong and the distribution of volcanic dust from the eruption starting to decrease.

“The last eruption was reported yesterday. Winds are reported to be much weaker now, and the amount of dust has also significantly reduced; the dust from the Krakatau eruption is subsiding,” he said.

According to the Governor, the Lampung Provincial Government has also conducted Weather Modification Operations (OMC) today to help increase the likelihood of rainfall.

“Weather Modification Operations were carried out today. Hopefully, the operations are effective in Bandar Lampung today,” he added.

He expressed hope that the implementation of Weather Modification Operations would help improve weather and air quality conditions, particularly in the Bandar Lampung area.

“The arrival of rain is expected to reduce the impact of drought, improve water availability, assist agricultural land, and simultaneously enhance the environmental quality and the activities of the people in Lampung,” he added.
