A number of cadres from the United Development Party (PPP) have sued the PPP Central Executive Board Secretary General, Taj Yasin, and Deputy Chairperson, Agus Suparmanto, at the Central Jakarta District Court on Monday, 18 May 202<0xA0>6.

The plaintiffs’ legal counsel, Fendy Ariyanto, stated that the cadres had previously attempted to resolve the internal party dispute through the PPP’s internal dispute resolution team. However, as the outcome was deemed unsatisfactory, the cadres have proceeded with legal action by filing a lawsuit at the Central Jakarta District Court under registration number PNJKT.PST-18052026XSJ.

“Today, we have officially registered the lawsuit against Taj Yasin and Agus Suparmanto at the Central Jakarta District Court. This is because the decision from the PPP internal dispute resolution team did not grant the remedies demanded by the cadres,” Fendy told reporters.

Feyndi explained that the lawsuit was filed because both parties, Taj Yasin and Agus Suparmanto, are considered to have caused turmoil within the party. Furthermore, the plaintiffs have questioned the status of Agus Suparmanto, alleging that he has never been registered as a PPP member.

“Both are considered to have caused turmoil within the party. Meanwhile, Mr Agus Suparmanto himself has never been registered as a PPP cadre,” he asserted.

Fendy added that the plaintiffs consist of cadres from various regions, including the Eastern region represented by the Chairman of the Bone Regency PPP Branch, Khairul Amran, and the Secretary, Rangga Risaswar; the Java region represented by the Chairman of the South Jakarta PPP Branch, M. Nasir, and the Secretary of the Banten PPP Regional Board, Uhen Zuhaeni; as well as the Sumatra region represented by the Chairman of the Palembang PPP Branch, Muhammad Sulaiman, and the Secretary, Ahmad Zaky Wahid Amrullah.
