Dispute Over House Without Official Deed: Access Blocking in Pondok Aren Allegedly Involves Community Organisation
SOUTH TANGERANG, KOMPAS.com — The blocking of access to residents’ homes on Jalan Murjaya, Jurang Mangu Barat, Pondok Aren Subdistrict, South Tangerang City, is suspected to have been carried out by a group of people identified as part of a community organisation (ormas). The action occurred after a house sale dispute without an official deed heated up, culminating in the forcible removal of belongings. The house occupant, Raffa Azman (21), said dozens of people arrived at his home on Tuesday (14/4/2026). They reportedly demanded full payment for the house and threatened to block access. Among the group, Raffa saw a man wearing a white shirt, black trousers, red tie, and black cap who appeared to be leading. The man introduced himself as a lawyer from the opposing party. According to Raffa, the group arrived suddenly, cut off the electricity, and pounded on the door. After the door was opened, they demanded payment of Rp 3 billion for the house and threatened to block access. An argument ensued until Raffa’s family contacted the Pondok Aren Police Sector. The police who arrived then mediated between the two parties. “We have mediated with them along with the police sector and my family, with me personally. It was agreed that there would be no blocking or taking of belongings,” said Raffa. After the mediation, the group left the location. However, the situation changed after the police departed. Raffa said that about 10 to 15 minutes after the police left, the group returned. “About 10 to 15 minutes after the police left, they came back, pounded on the door. The ormas immediately moved,” he said. “It got crowded right away, then they measured and finally walled it up,” he added. He considered the action intimidating to his family because a large number of people arrived. As a result of the incident, access in and out of the house was blocked and could not be passed by vehicles. “Cars and motorbikes can’t get out at all. Our activities are disrupted,” Raffa said. Meanwhile, the police stated they are investigating the incident, including allegations of involvement by several parties in the blocking action.
