Dispute Between Ahmad Bahar and Hercules Continues as His Daughter Alleges Intimidation; GRIB Jaya Denies
Jakarta, KOMPAS.com - The dispute between book author Ahmad Bahar and GRIB Jaya’s chairman Hercules continues even though both parties are said to have reached a settlement through mediation at the Depok Metro Police. This time, Ahmad Bahar’s daughter, identified by the initial F (33), has spoken out about her experience when she was taken to GRIB Jaya’s headquarters in Kedoya, West Jakarta, on Sunday, 17 May 2026. F was brought to the GRIB Jaya HQ to be questioned regarding alleged threatening messages and a provocation video sent to Hercules’s wife’s personal number via her WhatsApp account. F said several people came to Ahmad Bahar’s house in Cimanggis, Depok, to locate her father. However, since Ahmad Bahar was not at home, F was asked to accompany them to the GRIB Jaya headquarters. “I already said, I do not want to go,” she said when she arrived at the Komnas HAM building in Central Jakarta on Thursday, 21 May 2026. According to F, initially only about four people came to the house. But the number continued to grow, making her afraid. “They said, ‘later we will prepare a stamp-duty letter guaranteeing your safety’.” I said I did not want to.” “If they ask why I must go, it’s because if I do not go more people will come,” she added. “They also said, ‘you’re afraid that if you don’t go, you’ll be dragged by them’,” she continued. After arriving at the GRIB Jaya HQ, F said she was asked to wait for Hercules to come. When meeting Hercules, F was accused of sending threats to Hercules and his wife. “Mr Hercules still said, ‘what are you doing, threatening me and my wife?’ I replied, ‘sorry Sir, it wasn’t me.’ But he still didn’t believe,” F said. She said she felt stressed being surrounded by many men, most of whom were large. “In that situation I was surrounded by men; what could I say? I felt I could do nothing,” she said.
