Dishub Prepares Traffic Engineering Around DPR-Palace Ahead of Planned Protest
The Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) has prepared traffic engineering measures to anticipate congestion resulting from a public demonstration scheduled for tomorrow. Traffic management will be implemented on several roads around the DPR/MPR complex and the State Palace.
A total of 60 officers will be deployed during the first shift from 07.00 to 13.00 WIB, and another 60 officers during the second shift from 13.00 to 19.00 WIB, said Head of the Jakarta Transportation Agency Budi Awaluddin in a statement on Wednesday (26/8/2026).
Budi stated that traffic management will be carried out situationally, based on the security staging of the protest which is divided into three zones. He urged the public to anticipate travel disruptions, particularly for those passing through affected areas. Traffic engineering will be implemented situationally, taking into account conditions and the movement of crowds on the ground. The public is expected to follow the directions of officers and use alternative routes if traffic is diverted.
The traffic engineering scheme around the DPR/MPR building is as follows:
Zone 1: The affected area includes the southern side of Jalan Letjen S Parman, from Semanggi to Simpang Slipi. If congestion occurs, traffic engineering will be applied situationally.
Zone 2: If congestion occurs, vehicles from Cawang will be diverted via Jalan Jenderal Gatot Subroto, Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, Jalan Sisingamangaraja, Jalan Asia Afrika, Jalan Patal Senayan, and so on. Vehicles from Tomang heading towards Cawang can still pass, but Dishub has prepared anticipatory traffic engineering measures according to field conditions.
Zone 3: Vehicles from Tomang heading towards Cawang will be diverted via Jalan Tomang Raya, Jalan Balikpapan, Jalan Suryopranoto, and Jalan Juanda. Meanwhile, vehicles from Cawang heading towards Tomang will be diverted via Jalan Jenderal Gatot Subroto, Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, Jalan Sisingamangaraja, Jalan Asia Afrika, Jalan Patal Senayan, and so on. For vehicles from Blok M heading towards Tomang, diversion will be through Jalan Sisingamangaraja, Jalan Asia Afrika, Jalan Patal Senayan, and so on, or via Jalan Jenderal Gatot Subroto towards Cawang.
The traffic engineering scheme around the State Palace includes affected roads such as Jalan M.H. Thamrin, Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat, Jalan KH Wahid Hasyim, Jalan Kebon Sirih, and Jalan Budi Kemuliaan.
Vehicles from Tugu Tani heading towards Tanah Abang will be diverted via Jalan MI Ridwan Rais, Jalan Medan Merdeka Timur, Jalan Veteran, Jalan Cideng Timur, and so on. Vehicles from Tanah Abang heading towards Pulogadung will be diverted via Jalan Abdul Muis, Jalan Majapahit, Jalan Ir H Juanda, and so on. Meanwhile, vehicles from Senayan heading towards Kota will be diverted via Jalan KH Mas Mansyur, Jalan Cideng Barat, Jalan Cideng Timur, Jalan Abdul Muis, Jalan Majapahit, and so on.
Vehicles from Harmoni heading towards Senayan will be diverted via Jalan Ir H Juanda, Jalan Pos, Jalan Gedung Kesenian, Jalan Lapangan Banteng Utara, Jalan Katedral, Jalan Pejambon, Jalan MI Ridwan Rais, Jalan Tugu Tani, Jalan Menteng Raya, Jalan Taman Cut Mutiah, Jalan GSSJ Samratulangi, Jalan HOS Cokroaminoto, Jalan HR Rasuna Said, and so on.
To support traffic management, Dishub DKI has prepared 10 traffic control points. These points are located at Simpang Senayan towards Bundaran Senayan, FX, TL Fairmont, Patal Senayan, Pintu 10, Hotel Mulia, Simpang Pal Merah, Masjid Babah Alun, Ladokgi, and the underpass below Ladokgi.
Dishub has also prepared four tow trucks positioned at Pintu 10, under the Ladogi flyover, Hotel Mulia, and FX. Dishub DKI will continue to monitor the situation and coordinate with the police and other relevant parties during the demonstration.
The public is urged to follow officer directions, exercise caution while driving, and adjust travel times and routes according to current traffic conditions.
