Disguised campaigning

A number of political parties have clearly started their
election campaigns, including putting up banners and flags
everywhere.

Party leaders, especially those who hold government positions,
are also campaigning wherever they go, though they always deny
this. However, it is the facts that matter, rather than their
denials.

It must be really difficult for them to claim that no
campaigning has been taking place when it is clear to everybody
that the opposite is the case. Perhaps only in their consciences
will they admit what is happening.

Let us hope that the habit of saying things that are totally
at odds with the facts will not adversely affect the Indonesian
people.
