Disdikpora Reveals 48 Schools in Buleleng Lack Hindu Religious Education Teachers

As many as 48 schools in Buleleng Regency, Bali, still lack teachers for the Hindu religious education subject. In response, the Buleleng Education, Youth and Sports Office (Disdikpora) will carry out a redistribution of teachers.

Head of Buleleng Disdikpora Ida Bagus Gde Surya Bharata explained that his office will remap teacher needs at each school. According to him, teachers whose teaching hours have not been fulfilled will be assigned to teach at other schools that are short of teachers.

“We will try to carry out redistribution mapping. If there are teachers with excess or insufficient teaching hours, we will assign them to places that need them,” said Surya Bharata on Monday (7/9/2026).

Surya Bharata said the shortage of teachers is not limited to the Hindu religious education subject. A number of schools in Buleleng are also experiencing a shortage of Physical Education, Sports and Health (PJOK) teachers and classroom teachers.

He said Buleleng Disdikpora will apply a multi-grade class system to address the shortage of classroom teachers. He also plans to assign subject teachers to teach at other schools located not far from their original school.

Surya Bharata said Buleleng Disdikpora has proposed additional teacher formations. The proposal will be processed through the Buleleng Personnel and Human Resources Development Agency (BKPSDM) to be forwarded to the State Personnel Agency (BKN) and the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform.

“As for the formations, we have already proposed them,” he added.
