Discussion of Indonesia One Data Bill Completed, Set for Ratification on 6 October
Member of the DPR Legislation Committee, Daniel Johan, stated that the ratification of the Indonesia One Data Bill is targeted for next Tuesday. Daniel Johan noted that the discussion of the Bill’s list of inventory of problems (DIM) has been completed and is currently in the harmonisation process.
“If the substance is all finished, it is now just a matter of the working teams. Hopefully, if everything goes smoothly, a decision will be made on Monday so it can be brought to the plenary session and established as law on Tuesday. At the very least, we will meet during this session,” said Daniel Johan at the parliamentary complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Friday (2/10/2026).
Daniel Johan mentioned that there were approximately 1,300 items in the list of inventory of problems for the Indonesia One Data Bill. He stated that the discussion of these issues has concluded and a first-level decision will be reached next Monday.
“The DIM is finished. There were 1,300 items in the DIM. However, the process of addressing the DIM is complete. Now it is just down to the working teams,” he said.
The Chairman of the PKB party went on to explain the urgency of the Indonesia One Data Bill, also touching upon the proposal for an agency to regulate Indonesia One Data.
“It is very urgent because a country without data cannot have planning. Planning becomes chaotic and prone to manipulation. Consequently, standard criteria also become unclear. Therefore, we hope that following this, development will be more certain and directed,” said Daniel.
“One of the major problems in the context of data is sectoral ego. Each ministry has its own data, and each sector has its own data. Now, this will be regulated, orchestrated, coordinated, and collected by the Indonesia One Data Agency. Previously, there was no law governing this, only a Presidential Regulation, so this is intended to strengthen the framework. This way, all ministries will follow,” he added.
