JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Another Chinese electric car brand, Leapmotor, is set to enter the Indonesian market. However, the exact timing of its arrival has not yet been announced in detail.

In Indonesia, Leapmotor is under the auspices of PT Indomobil National Distributor, which is part of the Indomobil Group.

Although it has not officially announced the launch schedule in Indonesia, Leapmotor has begun introducing several technological advantages featured in its products.

One of them is the Cell-to-Chassis (C2C) battery architecture, an integration approach that allows battery cells to become a direct part of the vehicle structure.

“Unlike conventional battery systems that use a cell-to-module-to-pack structure, C2C technology eliminates the battery module layer and integrates the battery cells directly into the vehicle chassis,” Leapmotor stated in an official release on Tuesday (24/3/2026).

This integration enables a significant increase in battery space efficiency, with a battery space utilisation rate of around 91 per cent.

Leapmotor states that the more integrated design also helps reduce the number of components in the battery system, thereby supporting a more compact and efficient vehicle structure.

In addition to improving space efficiency, Cell-to-Chassis technology is also claimed to provide advantages in the vehicle’s structural aspects.

This technology is also supported by a battery management system that can monitor battery performance and safety in real-time.

“This technology has been applied to several Leapmotor electric vehicle models, including the Leapmotor C01 electric sedan, the Leapmotor C11 electric SUV, and the latest generation Leapmotor C10 electric SUV,” it said.
