Discussing geopolitics, Anwar Ibrahim to meet Prabowo next Friday
Kuala Lumpur (ANTARA) - Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim will meet Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto on Friday (27/3) to discuss the current geopolitical situation.
“Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim will make a special visit to Jakarta, Republic of Indonesia, on 27 March 2026, at the invitation of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto,” stated the Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Wisma Putra) in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday.
Wisma Putra conveyed that the visit will focus on recent geopolitical developments, particularly conflicts in West Asia, as well as their impacts on regional stability and the global economy, including implications for Malaysia and Indonesia.
In that context, the meeting between the two leaders is expected to intensify diplomatic efforts to ease tensions and ensure the continuity of global trade routes and crucial supply chains for the welfare of the people of both countries.
The meeting will also affirm the importance of strengthening ASEAN’s role as a united and principled bloc. Thus, the region can act collectively in maintaining peace, preserving regional stability, and protecting economic resilience amid global uncertainties.
