Discotheques, bars closed

JAKARTA (JP): Six discotheques and bars in four mayoralties have been closed by the City Law and Order Office for violating their hours of operation, an official early this week.

Toha Reno, the secretary of the team in charge of the operation, said that the amusement centers are Puspita on Jl. Juana, Tiga Kuda on Jl. Cikini Raya, Monggo Mas on Jl. Hayam Wuruk, Top 10 Discotheque on Jl. Hayam Wuruk, Cleopatra on Jl. Sunter Agung and another bar in Menteng Pulo, South Jakarta.

He said that 40 amusement places has been so far suspended during the period from April to October, mostly on ground that they have broke the operation time.

According to regulations, bars and discotheques in the city are allowed to remain open until two a.m, while live music clubs must close at midnight.

Toha said that the operation permits of the locales were temporarily revoked. The owners will be allowed to re-apply for new permits with certain conditions, he said. (32)
