Disciplinary sanctions for Jakarta civil servants using official vehicles for personal purposes during holiday periods
Jakarta — The Jakarta Provincial Government has imposed disciplinary penalties on civil servants (ASN) who use official vehicles for purposes outside of official duties during national holidays and joint leave periods for the observance of Nyepi and Eid 1447H/2026M.
“Civil servants who violate this prohibition will be subject to disciplinary sanctions in accordance with applicable legislation,” said Jakarta Provincial Secretary Uus Kuswanto in a statement in Jakarta on Tuesday.
The regulation is contained in Jakarta Provincial Secretary Circular No. 13/SE/2026, issued on 13 March 2026 and directed to all civil servants in the Jakarta Provincial Government.
The circular specifies that civil servants are prohibited from using official vehicles, including both official position vehicles and operational vehicles, for personal purposes such as travelling home for holidays, leisure activities, and other non-official matters during national holidays and joint leave periods.
The policy is based on Article 13 of the Governor’s Regulation No. 119 Year 2020 on the Management of Official Vehicles, as amended through the Governor’s Regulation No. 27 Year 2022.
Additionally, the circular implements the Anti-Corruption Commission Leadership Circular No. 2 Year 2026 concerning corruption prevention and control of gratification related to religious holidays.
