Disbursing Rp 878.68 Billion in Social Assistance: PRR Task Force and Social Affairs Minister Tackle Sumatra Flood Victims Ahead of Eid
INFO TEMPO - The government via the Task Force for Accelerating Rehabilitation and Reconstruction after Natural Disasters (Satgas PRR) has begun distributing various aid programmes to help the recovery of the economy for communities affected by floods in Sumatra. The support is expected to ease the burden on residents still rebuilding, while giving new hope ahead of Eid al-Fitr.
To help communities rebuild their lives, Satgas PRR is not only undertaking infrastructure rehabilitation and providing temporary housing. The government is also preparing various social assistance for affected residents.
The assistance comprises Bantuan Stimulan Sosial Ekonomi (BSSE) of Rp 5 million and Bantuan Isian Hunian (BIH) Rp 3 million per family to complete basic household needs. In addition, life insurance guarantees (jadup) of Rp 450 thousand per person per month for three months will be provided to help residents meet daily needs during the recovery period.
The government has prepared a budget of Rp 878.68 billion, consisting of Rp 543.09 billion for social-economic stimulus and housing filling assistance, and Rp 335.59 billion for life insurance guarantees. The funds will be disbursed to 67,886 heads of households who have been validated as beneficiaries (KPM).
The Chairman of Satgas PRR, who is also the Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian, together with Social Minister Saifullah Yusuf, symbolically handed over the aid during a visit to Banda Aceh on Friday, 6 March 2026.
The distribution of social assistance is carried out in two phases via PT Pos Indonesia. In the first phase, the government has provided aid to 38,070 families with a total budget of Rp 304.56 billion for BIH and BSSE. Additionally, there are 143,496 beneficiaries who form part of the validated family heads for the life-insurance program. In the first phase, life insurance disbursements totalled Rp 193.72 billion.
“There will be another wave,” said the Interior Minister as he closed the Khanduri Ramadan Festival Aceh Ramadan Festival 2026 at the Masjid Raya Baiturrahman complex, Banda Aceh, on Friday, 6 March 2026.

Minister of Home Affairs Saifullah Yusuf, commonly known as Gus Ipul, targets that the disbursement can be fully completed before Eid al-Fitr, as he wants to ease the burden on the public with these aids.
“All the support is tremendous. We hope this becomes an integral part of the recovery process so that Aceh can be restored to a normal state, and be better than before,” Gus Ipul said as he accompanied Tito on his visit to Aceh.
The Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) is one of the ministries involved in Satgas PRR. Coordination within this task force is vital in the transition process toward post-flood recovery in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.
The collaboration between Kemensos and the PRR Task Force, led by Tito Karnavian, in the distribution of various adaptive social assistance, is a tangible embodiment of President Prabowo Subianto’s directive when appointing Tito Karnavian as Chair of the Satgas in January 2026. This collaboration ensures relief can be distributed quickly, precisely targeted, and coordinated, to accelerate recovery of affected communities to normal conditions.
“In his capacity as Home Affairs Minister, the President believes that under the Mendagri (Minister of Home Affairs) coordination can be better managed,” said Prasetyo Hadi, the State Secretariat Minister on Tuesday, 6 January 2026.
