JAKARTA – As Eid al-Fitr 1447 H approaches, public enquiries regarding the disbursement date for retirement benefits in 2026 continue to intensify.

Not only active civil servants, but retired civil servants (PNS), military personnel (TNI), police officers (Polri), and state officials are also entitled to receive holiday allowances (THR).

However, as of late February 2026, the government has not yet issued the latest Government Regulation (PP) specifically governing the disbursement of retirement benefits in 2026.

The regulation defines pensioners as state officials who have retired and receive pension benefits in accordance with applicable legislation. According to Article 1, paragraph (7), pension recipients are defined as the legal heirs of state officials or pensioners who receive pension benefits as stipulated in applicable statutory provisions. This means that if a pensioner passes away, their THR entitlement is transferred to the pension recipient in accordance with applicable law.

However, pending the publication of the latest regulation, the definitive schedule for disbursing retirement benefits remains subject to an official government decision.

Previously, Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa signalled that THR disbursement would be expedited to commence in early Ramadan. “I don’t know the exact date, but we hope to be able to distribute it in the early days of fasting,” he stated during the Indonesia Economic Outlook event in Jakarta on Friday, 13 February 2026.

He also noted that the budget allocation for civil servants, the military, and police reaches Rp 55 trillion for approximately 10.5 million recipients, including pensioners. An official announcement is expected to be made by President Prabowo Subianto.

Through its official Instagram account @taspen, the state-owned enterprise issued a warning titled “Beware of False Information” regarding the payment of 2026 retirement benefits to pension programme participants.
