Disbursement Date for 30 Kg Rice Aid Phase 2 in 2026 and Recipient Criteria

The government will again distribute hundreds of tonnes of rice to citizens who meet the criteria. This Phase II rice aid is a continuation of Phase I, which was distributed from February to March 2026. A total of 997.2 thousand tonnes of rice will be distributed to 33.24 million Beneficiary Families (KPM). The amount is 10 kilogrammes of rice per month for three months, totalling 30 kg. Compared to the 2025 distribution, the 2026 Rice Aid is substantially larger. Last year, this food assistance totalled 710.78 thousand tonnes. This year, Phase I amounted to 664.88 thousand tonnes, while Phase II received an allocation of 997.2 thousand tonnes, resulting in a 133.83% increase.

The Director of Distribution and Food Reserves at the National Food Agency (Bapanas), Rachmi Widiriani, stated that the distribution of Phase II Rice Aid will commence simultaneously on 17 August 2026. “This food assistance distribution will be carried out in August, coinciding with the 17 August celebrations in all regions. The mandate from the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, reinforced by the Head of Bapanas, is that the August distribution is a very good and appropriate moment,” said Rachmi. However, the distribution may extend into September, considering that certain regions with specific geographical conditions require special handling. “The second phase has been decided to be distributed all at once in August, possibly extending past September due to geographical conditions. So, it has been decided as a one-shot distribution in August. Once it enters the Bapanas budget implementation list, the Head of Bapanas will assign Bulog,” explained Deputy for Food Availability and Stabilisation at Bapanas, I Gusti Ketut Astawa.

Director of Distribution and Food Reserves at Bapanas, Rachmi Widiriani, stated that the 30 kg Rice Aid will be given to people classified in desil 1 to 4 of the National Socio-Economic Single Data (DTSEN). “So that the public, especially those in desil 1 to 4, can feel how the government is present in the form of food assistance as the public celebrates 17 August, making this food aid part of the series of 17 August celebration activities,” she explained. The number of food aid recipients remains the same as the first phase, totalling 33,244,408 beneficiaries, using the third version of DTSEN updated on 10 July. Desil refers to the division of the population into ten groups based on welfare levels, with desil 1 to 4 being the priority groups for social assistance.

There are two ways to check one’s desil group in DTSEN. The first is through the Cek Bansos Kemensos website by entering the 16-digit NIK and a captcha code. The second is via the Cek Bansos application, downloadable from the Play Store or App Store, where users can enter their NIK to view their name, desil group, and the status of various types of social assistance.
