Disaster Survivors in South Tapanuli Hold First Ramadan Tarawih Prayers
Residents who survived hydrometeorological disasters in the villages of Garoga and Huta Godang, Batang Toru, South Tapanuli, North Sumatra, held their first congregational tarawih prayers on Tuesday evening (17 February 2026).
The Muhammadiyah community members performed the prayers at Masjid Taqwa Muhammadiyah in Garoga village, marking the beginning of their Ramadan 1447 Hijriah observance on Wednesday, 18 February 2026.
Residents from both Garoga and Huta Godang villages, who were affected by the hydrometeorological disaster, gathered at the mosque to commence the holy month’s worship together.
