A total of 781 disaster survivors from 207 households affected by a hydrometeorological disaster in November 2025 have begun occupying permanent housing units in Kuala Cangkoi Village, Lapang District, North Aceh. Previously residing in temporary tent shelters, these beneficiaries have now moved into 104 permanent housing units equipped with electricity, clean water, sanitation facilities, bedding, and prayer facilities.

The permanent housing complex was constructed with support from the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Kemenko Polkam) to provide stable accommodation for disaster-affected families. The transition from emergency tent shelters to these purpose-built structures represents a significant step in the disaster recovery process for the region.

Each housing unit has been designed to meet basic living standards and includes essential utilities and amenities to ensure the wellbeing and dignity of the residents. The provision of prayer facilities reflects an understanding of the community’s cultural and religious needs during the recovery period.
