In Agam Regency (ANTARA) - Disaster survivors living in the temporary housing (huntara) of Kayu Pasak, Nagari Salareh Aia, Agam Regency, West Sumatra (Sumbar), have received Eid al-Fitr assistance worth Rp750,000 distributed by the National Zakat Agency (Baznas).

The Head of Kayu Pasak Sub-village, Nofril Harman, when met at the huntara on Wednesday, stated that the aid was given to all survivors in the huntara, numbering 117 households (KK).

“Data from BNBA determined by the regent for victims whose homes were damaged or destroyed due to natural disasters. The amount given to each recipient is Rp750,000,” said Nofril while handing over the aid to one of the survivors.

Nofril added that this distribution is a follow-up phase for 14 households that were previously not recorded as beneficiaries. Meanwhile, the total number of beneficiaries in Palembayan sub-district reaches nearly 300 households.

“So, it was previously distributed last week. There is still follow-up data from the community that was not included in the category; today it is given,” he added.

Regarding zakat fitrah, he mentioned that a zakat collection committee has been formed to gather zakat from surrounding residents, with priority distribution to survivors in the huntara.

The amount of zakat fitrah set varies according to the type of rice consumed, ranging from Rp41,000, Rp45,000, and Rp51,000.

One of the recipients, Ila, expressed her gratitude to Baznas for providing assistance to the survivors in Kayu Pasak huntara, especially ahead of Eid al-Fitr.

The 33-year-old woman plans to use the Eid aid to meet Eid needs, from food ingredients to dry cakes.

“Here, we the people of Kayu Pasak Huntara thank Baznas for the assistance so that we can use it properly, to buy groceries or other Eid necessities,” she said.

The flash flood and landslide disaster in Palembayan sub-district, Agam Regency, West Sumatra, at the end of November 2025, had serious impacts. As many as 217 residents’ houses in Palembayan sub-district suffered the worst damage, and 136 people were declared dead.
