Lubuk Basung — The Head of the Acceleration of Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (PRR) Task Force, Colonel Tamimi Hendra Kesuma, led a supervision visit to assess the acceleration of rehabilitation and reconstruction following the natural disaster in Agam District, West Sumatra, on 10-12 March 2026.

“This visit is to directly observe the condition of the affected areas and to verify the formation of a data collection team for prospective recipients of permanent housing, through in-situ schemes, ex-situ independent relocation, and centralised relocation,” said Tamimi Hendra Kesuma in Lubuk Basung on Thursday.

Prior to the field inspection on Wednesday (11/3), the PRR Task Force participated in a coordination meeting with elements of the military, police, and relevant Regional Government Units to discuss various steps to accelerate rehabilitation and reconstruction following the disaster in Agam.

The meeting was chaired by Deputy Regent Muhammad Iqbal to discuss various measures for accelerating rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts in the post-disaster period in Agam.

On the first day of field inspection, Wednesday (11/3), the PRR Task Force visited temporary housing sites in Kayu Pasak and Padang Gantiang. The delegation also visited land with Usage Rights (HGU) owned by PT Palalu Raya and PT Inang Sari, which the local government proposed as one of the locations for building permanent housing for disaster-affected residents.

On the second day, Thursday (12/3), the task force continued its inspection to several other affected locations, including SMPN 3 Tanjung Raya, which was affected by flooding from the Batang Asam River, and temporary housing in Linggai built by Danantara. The team also inspected State Primary School No. 09 Bancah, which was affected by flash flooding, and observed teaching and learning activities at the emergency school currently being used by students.

Additionally, the delegation inspected landslide and flood points near the Bailey Bridge over Rangek River, which was built by the military, and observed the construction of Armco bridges over Rangek River One and Rangek River Two, also being constructed by the military.

Regarding the permanent housing proposal by the local government using the former HGU land of PT Palalu Raya and PT Inang Sari, Tamimi stated: “This proposal will be further discussed and coordinated with the National Land Agency for follow-up action.”

The task force also highlighted the electricity needs of temporary housing residents. He proposed that the local government coordinate with the State Electricity Company to find solutions in the form of reduced tariffs or electricity subsidies for residents currently occupying temporary housing.

Through this visit, he said, it is hoped that the acceleration of rehabilitation and reconstruction following the disaster in Agam can run more optimally, so that affected residents can soon obtain adequate permanent housing and comprehensive livelihood recovery support.
