I bought a house in "Taman Kebajen Indah" in Bekasi, West
Java, in August 1994 with a down-payment. At that time the
construction of the house had not yet started. The developer
promised that the construction of the house would be completed
in August 1995.

When I visited the location in the promised month, it was
obvious that nothing had happened. They were still filling in the
land. The developer said that the rain had swept away the earth
and this had caused the delay. Again they promised to complete
the house by the end of 1995.

In January 1996 I found only a few blocks completed. This time
the explanation was that the contractor had been changed. So far
my block has not been completed yet. This indicates that the
developer lacks a sense of responsibility, as they have the
authority to urge the contractor to finish the construction.
Disappointed at this situation, I cancelled my purchase. But they
made it difficult to get reimbursed. This has shattered my dream
of owning a house.
