Disabled to perform Javanese dances
JAKARTA (JP): Disabled children from Krida Yudha Sinalika
Pagerluhur, a school for the disabled in Wonosobo, Central Java,
will perform Javanese dances here this weekend.
They will perform the dances at Pondok Indah Mall on Friday,
Saturday and Sunday. The performances are part of a series of
activities being held by Metro Department Store and Pondok Indah
Mall in celebration of Indonesia's 51st anniversary of
independence.
Gamelan music will be played at certain hours every day
through to Aug. 25. Handicrafts from Yogyakarta will also be
available at the mall.
Visitors will also be to enjoy traditional food served in
lesehan-styled outlets, where guests sit casually on the floor.
The lesehan tradition comes from restaurants on Jl. Malioboro,
the most popular thoroughfare in Yogyakarta. (sim)
