Disabled Female Ride-Hailing Driver in Medan Hit by Minibus, Motorcycle Stolen

A deaf female online motorcycle taxi driver with the initials RA was left in tears after being hit by a public minibus on Jalan Jamin Ginting in Medan. The driver of the minibus fled following the collision. Fellow ride-hailing drivers who witnessed the incident took the victim to the nearest hospital for treatment. Her motorcycle was temporarily entrusted to a nearby salon. When a colleague later went to collect the motorcycle, the salon owner said it had already been picked up by someone claiming to be a family member of the victim. A subsequent review of CCTV footage confirmed the individual was not related to the victim. Agam Zubir, chairman of the Medan and Surrounding Areas Online Motorcycle Taxi Association (Godams), confirmed the incident occurred on Sunday, 5 July.
