Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Inspectorate General of the Ministry of Immigration and Correctional Services (Itjen Kemenimipas) is monitoring the performance of civil servants (ASN) during the implementation of the work-from-home (WFH) policy to prevent potential discipline violations.

According to the Inspector General of Kemenimipas, Yan Sultra Indrajaya, they are wary of potential violations in public service sectors such as immigration and correctional services, which are not subject to WFH.

“This is what we continue to monitor, which may become potential violations there,” Yan said in Jakarta on Wednesday.

He stated that the WFH policy, as part of supporting the acceleration of government governance transformation within Kemenimipas, has been implemented twice during April 2026.

During its implementation, according to Yan, no discipline violations by Kemenimipas ASN have been found.

“So during WFH, we have implemented WFH twice, and during the policy’s enforcement, there have been no violations at all. However, in service units not subject to WFH, this is what we monitor,” he said.

He added that Kemenimipas is always committed to requesting information from the public and media, and to report any violations immediately through the complaint channels available at the ministry.

“We aim to clean up, shape our employees, the ASN in our institution, so that they can be integrous and committed to upholding the honour of this institution. Do not let discipline violations or criminal acts occur,” he said.

The Head of the Public Data, Information, and Communication Centre (Kapusdatin) of Kemenimipas, M Akbar Hadi Prabowo, explained that during the WFH policy, online roll calls are conducted and reports are required as a form of supervision.

“So during WFH, there is a roll call via Zoom. In addition to the Zoom roll call, in the Secretariat General, there are reports where during WFH, colleagues are asked to make reports on what was done during WFH, so that also serves as one (supervision),” Akbar said.

Of the 774 violations, they consist of 212 minor disciplinary sanctions; 341 moderate disciplinary sanctions; 159 severe disciplinary sanctions; and 62 cases in the process of imposing sanctions.

The most violations were committed by frontline employees tasked with public services and security.

Kemenimipas has implemented WFH since 1 April 2026, based on the Minister of Imipas Circular No. 2 of 2026 on the Implementation of Official Duties for ASN Employees through the Application of WFH to Support the Acceleration of Government Governance Transformation within Kemenimipas.

Based on the circular, the implementation of official duties for Kemenimipas ASN is regulated through a combination of two work patterns, namely work from office (WFO) for four working days (Monday-Thursday), and WFH on Friday.

The circular explains that the WFH policy only applies to ASN performing management support functions and administrative tasks.

ASN tasked with operational immigration and correctional services, inspections, security, and supervision continue to carry out official duties at the office (WFO) as usual.

It is also stated that ASN implementing WFH are required to conduct online attendance via the Star-ASN application, report the location of duty implementation, and ensure they can be contacted during working hours.

Work unit leaders are responsible for monitoring performance target achievements and ensuring open online communication as a forum for consultation and complaints.
