Jakarta — The Directorate General of Immigration, Ministry of Immigration and Repatriation (Imipas) has revealed the timeline of the arrest of a Portuguese woman with the initials MG (30), a fugitive wanted for premeditated murder in her country.

Acting Director General of Immigration Yuldi Yusman stated in Jakarta on Monday that MG was arrested by a joint team from the Directorate General of Immigration, South Jakarta Immigration Office, and the SES NCB Interpol Indonesia team.

“The arrest began when immigration intelligence obtained information that MG would visit the South Jakarta Immigration Office to process her immigration documents on Thursday, 5 March,” Yuldi said.

Based on this intelligence, he explained, the joint team conducted close surveillance at the location from the morning. At precisely 10:00 WIB, MG arrived at the location and was immediately secured by officers after administrative procedures were completed and as she was heading to her vehicle.

According to Immigration data, MG first arrived in Indonesia on 10 June 2025, prior to the issuance of the European Court of Human Rights decision.

“MG initially used a visitor stay permit for two months, before eventually obtaining a limited stay permit as a Remote Worker, which expired on 8 July 2026,” he said.

Meanwhile, according to international police records, MG was involved in a brutal murder case in Algoz, Portugal in March 2020.

In the police records, MG and her accomplice are suspected of committing premeditated murder against a man with the initials DG in order to obtain victim compensation funds valued at €70,000.

The modus operandi employed was particularly cruel, involving sedation, strangulation, and attempted mutilation of the victim’s body to access banking data on the victim’s mobile phone before disposing of the corpse at sea.

Yuldi said that MG’s arrest proceeded smoothly and without incident. She will subsequently undergo immigration proceedings for deportation to her country of origin.

“Currently, the individual in question has been brought to the Directorate General of Immigration for further examination and detention. MG’s deportation was carried out today (Monday),” he said.
