Directorate General of Immigration provides quota of 50 passport applications at Sudirman Car Free Day
Jakarta – The Directorate General (Ditjen) of Immigration under the Ministry of Immigration and Public Services (Kemenimipas) has provided a quota of 50 applicants for the Car Free Day (CFD) passport service at Sudirman, Central Jakarta, on Sunday.
Eko Budianto, the Director of Visas and Travel Documents at the Directorate General of Immigration, stated that the CFD passport service has been conducted three times throughout May 2026 in Jakarta.
“Alhamdulillah, in the past two weeks the CFD passport service had around 30 applicants. However, today our service has expanded to 50 applicants,” said Eko.
The quota of 50 applicants is divided into 40 applicants through the M-Paspor mobile application and 10 walk-in applicants.
According to him, the quota limitation is adjusted to the CFD schedule. Since the service must conclude when the CFD event ends.
“We limit the quota because this is the CFD moment; when CFD ends, our service also ends, so the local government sets a time limit for us,” he said.
The CFD passport service also offers polycarbonate passports at the same price as standard five-year or ten-year passports.
Eko stated that the mobile CFD passport service represents the implementation of Immigration Minister Agus Andrianto’s programme, which includes improving digital-based immigration services for the public.
He explained that immigration services are not only available at the permanent Passport Service Unit (ULP), Immigration Work Unit (UKK), and Public Service Mall (MPP).
The CFD Passport Service, he said, serves as an alternative for working citizens who are too busy to access permanent services available Monday through Friday.
“The services at ULP, UKK, and MPP are permanent, not mobile. However, with one of the Minister’s action programmes, immigration services can reach the public’s needs, such as here at CFD,” said Eko.
The CFD Passport Service has received a positive response from the public. By 07:30 WIB, 37 applicants had arrived via the M-Paspor application, and five walk-in applicants had been served.
Fanny, a 40-year-old resident from Depok, departed early in the morning to access the CFD passport service in Jakarta after her initial M-Paspor registration was fully booked.
“I tried coming directly, left Depok at dawn, and fortunately got a walk-in slot,” she said.
According to her, the passport application process at CFD is particularly helpful for working families, as it provides a special day outside working hours to submit passport applications.
“I’m applying for passports for my children, who need parental accompaniment. Since we work Monday through Friday, the CFD passport service is the best solution,” said Fanny.
