Directorate General of Immigration adjusts operational service schedule during joint holiday
Jakarta — Indonesia’s Directorate General of Immigration under the Ministry of Law and Human Rights is adjusting the operational schedule of immigration services across the country during the joint holiday period for Nyepi Day and Eid al-Fitr 2026.
Acting Director General of Immigration Yuldi Yusman stated in a statement in Jakarta on Wednesday that Immigration Offices will be temporarily closed from 18 to 24 March, with services resuming on 25 March 2026.
He therefore urged the public to promptly complete their immigration document processing, including passports and residence permits, before the holiday period begins to avoid a backlog of applicants after Eid and to minimise administrative risks.
“Ensure your immigration matters are completed before 17 March 2026,” said Yuldi.
According to him, completing administrative matters before 17 March is mandatory because the e-Visa portal will also be closed during this holiday period.
“We advise the public and foreign nationals to promptly complete their immigration document processing. This is important for our collective comfort and to prevent overstay risks during the Eid holiday period,” he said.
Yuldi assured that supervision and inspection functions at international entry points will continue to operate normally during the holiday period.
Arrival and departure areas at airports and international ports, he said, will remain open 24 hours, including visa-on-arrival services which will continue to be available for foreign tourists.
Yuldi also urged the public who have urgent needs to utilise the Fast-Track Same-Day Passport Acceleration service available at all immigration offices.
“Applicants whose passports have been processed are expected to collect them no later than 17 March 2026,” he urged.
Furthermore, the Directorate General of Immigration is offering convenience through rescheduling via the M-Passport application for citizens who already have a passport processing appointment but will still be away from home after Eid.
For emergency situations requiring passport issuance, such as unpostponable medical treatment abroad, the public can contact the hotline of the nearest immigration office to obtain assistance.
“Do not forget to always monitor the latest information through the official website www.imigrasi.go.id and immigration social media to stay updated during this extended holiday period,” Yuldi reminded the public.
