Pegadaian, together with Garuda TV, organised the inspiring ‘Indonesia Punya Kamu 2026: Connecting Generations’ programme to connect corporate leaders with the younger generation. This time, the activity was presented through the ‘Alumni Calling’ session, which was held at Andalas University recently.

Attending the event was the Director of Risk Management, Legal, and Compliance of PT Pegadaian, Ismail Ilyas, who returned to his alma mater, Andalas University. In front of hundreds of students, Ismail shared his life journey, professional track record, and leadership perspectives through a presentation titled ‘From Ranah Minang, for the Archipelago’.

Through this discussion forum, students were invited to take a closer look at various process dynamics, operational challenges, and strategic decisions that shape the career journey of a professional at a national level. The presence of a prominent alumni figure is expected to provide a real understanding of the competencies and mentality required in the modern working world.

“Returning to my alma mater is always a memorable moment for me. Through this Alumni Calling session, we want to open a space for students to realise that every process and challenge faced during university is a builder of future leadership character. The younger generation from Ranable Minang must be brave enough to take on roles, continue to grow, and provide real benefits to the wider community as part of our collective step to ‘MengEMASkan’ (Gold-ify) Indonesia,” said Ismail in a written statement on Wednesday (30/09/2026).

The ‘Connecting Generations’ series within ‘Indonesia Punya Kamu 2026’ is a tangible manifestation of PT Pegadaian’s commitment to supporting the strengthening of superior human resource (HR) capacity in Indonesia. Through this activity, Pegadaian proves its role, which focuses not only on developing the financial ecosystem and gold investment but also on investing in the potential of young talent as the nation’s most important asset.

“With the spirit of ‘MengEMASkan Indonesia’, PT Pegadaian hopes that this synergy between the industrial world and higher education can trigger innovation, leadership, and confidence among students, particularly at Andalas University, to be ready to contribute to Indonesia’s progress across various sectors,” he concluded.
