Director General of Taxation Reports 99 Per Cent of Finance Ministry Civil Servants Have Filed Annual Tax Returns via Coretax
Jakarta — The Director General of Taxation Bimo Wijayanto stated that approximately 99 per cent of civil servants within Indonesia’s Ministry of Finance have filed their Annual Personal Income Tax Returns (SPT) through the Coretax system.
“The Ministry of Finance has achieved almost 99 per cent compliance. The only exceptions are a few who were performing the hajj pilgrimage at that time,” Bimo said after attending the inauguration ceremony for Grade II officials at the Ministry of Finance in Jakarta on Tuesday.
He also noted that the level of tax return filing compliance at other government ministries and agencies (K/L) is similarly high. According to him, the majority of institutions have heeded the call to file SPT through the new tax administration system earlier than required.
“For other government agencies, it appears they are all compliant with the deadline set,” he added.
Previously, the Directorate General of Taxation (DJP) urged civil servants to submit their Annual Personal Income Tax Returns (PPh) no later than the end of February 2026.
“We also requested assistance from the relevant ministries to help direct SPT filing for all civil servants or their employees no later than the end of February,” Bimo said on 23 February.
This directive was subsequently followed up by the Ministry of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (Kemenpan-RB) through Circular Letter Number B/7/M.SM.00.00/2026 regarding the submission of Annual Personal Income Tax Returns for civil servants, military personnel, and police officers.
In the circular letter, all government institutions were asked to ensure their employees had submitted their Annual Tax Returns no later than 28 February 2026 as a demonstration of leadership to the public.
This acceleration of filing was also intended to prevent a build-up of submissions approaching the final deadline for personal income tax returns on 31 March 2026.
