Director-General of Ministry of Manpower Discusses Holiday Allowance Rules and Gig Worker Benefits
Jakarta – During Ramadan, when economic activity and community needs typically increase, worker welfare protection becomes increasingly important. This period is particularly relevant to fulfilling worker rights, including Holiday Allowance (Tunjangan Hari Raya or THR) payments and newer policies such as Holiday Bonus (BHR) for workers in specific sectors.
However, the business community simultaneously faces various economic challenges, including global uncertainty, production cost pressures, and slowdowns in several industrial sectors. These conditions raise an important question: how can the government ensure a balance between business continuity and worker protection?
The key issues for discussion include how the government ensures companies fulfill their obligations to workers, the extent of monitoring on THR payments and BHR implementation, and strategies for maintaining harmonious industrial relations amid current economic pressures.
To address these matters, CNBC Indonesia’s RAMADANOMICS programme hosts a direct discussion with Indah Anggoro Putri, Director-General of Industrial Relations and Labour Social Security at the Ministry of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia.
The programme airs on CNBC Indonesia TV on Monday, 16 March 2026, at 10:15 WIB.
