The Director General of Immigration at the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections (Dirjenim Kemenimipas), Hendarsam Marantoko, met with Cabinet Secretary (Seskab) Teddy Indra Wijaya to discuss enhancing immigration services. Hendarsam outlined programmes that have been implemented, including the simplification of immigration processes for Hajj pilgrims this season and improvements in services at airports and ports.

He explained that the simplification of Hajj immigration processes aims to make them more practical and comfortable for pilgrims. Additionally, enhancements to services at international arrival and departure points are intended to provide faster, more practical, and efficient checks for the public.

“Thank you for your time and the discussion, Mr. Cabinet Secretary. Do not tire in striving for the good of the nation and the state. We from the Directorate General of Immigration will strive to advance the immigration function even further in the future,” said Hendarsam at the Cabinet Secretariat Office in Jakarta on Tuesday night (21/4/2026).

Hendarsam also reported on plans to improve several State Border Crossing Posts (PLBN). He stated that upgrading several PLBN is important to strengthen service functions as well as supervision at national crossing points.

“Immigration itself has a strategic role in monitoring the entry and exit of passengers to maintain security and the comfort of travel for Indonesian citizens as well as foreigners,” he explained.

The meeting forms part of the initial coordination between the Cabinet Secretariat and the Directorate General of Immigration in promoting improvements to the quality of public services in the immigration sector.
