Director General of Dukcapil Reveals 97.47% of Population Has Recorded e-KTP
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - As many as 97.47% of Indonesia’s total population of 289 million people in the second semester of 2025 have undergone e-KTP data recording. This was revealed by the Director General of Population and Civil Registration (Dirjen Dukcapil) of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri), Teguh Setyabudi, at the Technical Training for Enhancing Data Management Capacity for Provincial and Regency/City Dukcapil Apparatus in 2026 in Depok, West Java, on Wednesday (6/5/2026). “From the current population of approximately 289.4 million, around 97.47% have already been recorded,” said Teguh on Wednesday. This means that more than 2% have yet to record their e-KTP across Indonesia. “Where are they located? Usually in 3T areas, and also where infrastructure is difficult,” he stated. His side will actively conduct outreach to areas where civil registration services are still relatively lacking. “That’s why we are reaching out to 3T areas, the outermost regions, and areas with infrastructure challenges,” he explained. “In fact, just yesterday on 27 April 2024, we conducted outreach for civil registration services to all inmates in prisons and detention centres across Indonesia,” he added.
