Director General of Dukcapil: 7,693 Institutions Utilising Population Data

The Director General of Population and Civil Registration (Dukcapil) at the Ministry of Home Affairs, Teguh Setyabudi, stated that the number of institutions utilising population data has increased from approximately 10 institutions in 2013 to more than 7,693 institutions in 2024. Teguh made this announcement during the signing of a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) between the Directorate General of Dukcapil and the General Secretariat of the Bawaslu RI in Jakarta on Friday.

“In 2013, only about 10 institutions utilised population data. However, in this current era, there are already more than 7,693 user institutions,” he said. According to Teguh, this increase has occurred alongside the transformation of population administration services, which are now integrated on a national scale.

He noted that the current population data utilisation system handles between eight to nine million data access requests every day, with total usage reaching over 20 billion hits. The largest users of population data services include the healthcare, telecommunications, education, social assistance, banking, and democratic processes sectors.

Furthermore, population data is utilised as a foundation for development planning, budget allocation, law enforcement, and supporting the implementation of general and regional elections through cooperation with various agencies. Teguh expressed hope that the cooperation between the Directorate General of Dukcapil and the General Secretariat of Bawaslu RI would further strengthen the use of population data while ensuring the security and protection of personal data.
