Director General of Corrections: Still Many Violations, Quick and Firm Response!

The Director General of Corrections (Dirjenpas) at the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections (Imipas), Mashudi, conducted a performance evaluation of his subordinates. He stated that he still found many violations, thus requesting that every violation be sanctioned quickly, accurately, and firmly, so as not to cause public disturbance. “Many violations are still found in several regions. Therefore, I ask all Corrections personnel to strengthen integrity in every implementation of duties,” said Mashudi, quoted from the official website of the Directorate General of Corrections on Tuesday (7/4/2026). Mashudi conveyed the evaluation and directions to technical implementing units (UPT) of corrections throughout Indonesia virtually on Monday (6/4). He encouraged his subordinates to ‘open their eyes’ and be responsive to the actions of rogue elements in the field that damage the dignity of Corrections and have the potential to create disturbances in security and order in correctional institutions. “Every violation must be followed up immediately in a quick, accurate, and firm manner so that it does not develop into a broader security and order disturbance,” he stressed. Mashudi hopes that the 62nd Corrections Service Day, which falls in April, and the upcoming 7th World Congress on Probation and Parole (WCPP) in Nusa Dua, Bali, will serve as momentum for his subordinates to demonstrate performance and changes towards improvement. “I invite all personnel to successfully commemorate the Corrections Service Day and support the implementation of the WCPP as Indonesia’s Corrections participation at the international level,” Mashudi invited.
