The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah (Kemenhaj) in Tangerang Regency, Banten, has ensured that the repatriation of 264 umrah pilgrims from the area will not be delayed, despite escalating tensions in the Middle East arising from the conflict involving Iran, the United States, and Israel.

“Alhamdulillah, safe and still in accordance with each pilgrim’s planned return schedule,” said Hasyim of the Tangerang regency Kemenhaj in Tangerang on Wednesday.

According to him, there are currently 264 umrah pilgrims undertaking the pilgrimage in the Holy City of Mecca, Saudi Arabia.

Nevertheless, it can be assured that the hundreds of umrah pilgrims from Tangerang Regency are safe and able to return home.

According to him, based on reports from several Umrah Travel Organisers (PPIU) direct flights from Jeddah or Madinah airports have not experienced delays.

“However, those transiting via Doha (Qatar), Oman, or Kuwait are postponed until conditions are stable,” he said.

In this regard, the Indonesian Kemenhaj urges Indonesian umrah pilgrims to remain calm and follow official guidance from airlines, PPIU, or related authorities.

Hasyim said that at present several flights to and from Saudi Arabia are at risk of being rescheduled, delayed, or cancelled.

Therefore, ongoing communication is being conducted through each PPIU so that developments can be obtained from official channels and be accountable.

“We also urge families to remain calm,” said Hasyim.
