The direct Lampung–Kuala Lumpur flight is expected to open wider opportunities for the development of Lampung’s tourism sector.

General Manager of Radin Inten II International Airport, Kiki Eprina Arieanti, said that the direct Lampung–Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia flight can open up opportunities for developing the tourism sector in the region.

“The direct Lampung–Kuala Lumpur flight is expected to open wider opportunities for the development of Lampung’s tourism. With easier access for foreign tourists to various leading destinations in Lampung Province,” said Kiki Eprina Arieanti in Bandarlampung on Monday.

She explained that the resumption of direct Lampung–Kuala Lumpur flights will strengthen Lampung’s international connectivity with Malaysia. Kuala Lumpur is one of the strategic destinations that has close relations with Indonesia in the tourism, trade, investment, and education sectors.

“The opening of the Lampung–Kuala Lumpur international route is not only about adding flight services, but also opening wider opportunities for the growth of the tourism, trade, investment, and regional economy sectors. We hope the public can make use of this route so that the sustainability of the flight can be maintained and developed in the future,” she said.

She said the new flight routes from Radin Inten II International Airport, namely the domestic Lampung (TKG)–Jakarta (CGK)–Lampung (TKG) route and the international Lampung (TKG)–Kuala Lumpur (KUL)–Lampung (TKG) route operated by TransNusa, also strengthen Lampung’s air connectivity.

“Radin Inten II International Airport continues to be committed to supporting the development of flight connectivity through collaboration with airlines, regional government, and all parties, in order to open and maintain the sustainability of various potential routes to and from Lampung,” she said.

The opening of the two routes, which began operating on 24 August 2026, is a strategic step in expanding air transport access for Lampung Province, for both domestic and international travel.

The presence of these services is expected to provide more travel options for the public while strengthening the position of Radin Inten II International Airport as a gateway for regional connectivity.

“We are optimistic that with the support of all parties, regional government, business actors, the tourism industry, and the people of Lampung, the two routes operated by TransNusa can grow sustainably. The stronger Lampung’s air connectivity, the greater the opportunity to drive regional economic and tourism movement,” she added.

The international flight schedule from Lampung to Kuala Lumpur operates daily, with the Lampung–Kuala Lumpur flight departing at 11.40 WIB and arriving at 14.25 local time. The return flight departs Kuala Lumpur at 16.25 local time and arrives in Lampung at 17.10 WIB.
