Diplomats gather at Alila Hotel

JAKARTA: The Jakarta Diplomats' Club -- a social organization of diplomats and business executives -- held its first gathering of the year at Alila Hotel in Jakarta.

Several foreign diplomats, Indonesian business executives attended the small but colorful gathering, in which free drinks and food were served.

Alberto Leonardo Cuvelo, the counselor from the Mozambique embassy and one of the club's executives, said the main aim of the gathering was to provide a platform for diplomats and Indonesian executives to interact.

"We will organize more gatherings this year," Alberto said without elaborating further.

Alila's new general manager Murlidhar Rao, who sponsored the gathering, welcomed all the guests and thanked the club for choosing the hotel. -- JP
