Dino Claims Prabowo Ignored Foreign Leaders' Meeting Requests, Cabinet Secretary Clarifies

Cabinet Secretary Lieutenant Colonel Teddy Indra Wijaya has commented on claims that President Prabowo Subianto failed to respond when foreign leaders sought meetings at certain events. Former Deputy Foreign Minister Dino Patti Djalal stated that the Finnish President requested a meeting with Prabowo in New York but received no response for unknown reasons. An ASEAN leader in Cebu, Philippines also received no response for unknown reasons, he added. Teddy emphasised that decisions regarding meetings with foreign leaders are made by President Prabowo and Foreign Minister Sugiono. ‘Regarding meetings with foreign leaders at specific events, the decision lies with the President and the Foreign Minister’s advice,’ Teddy explained. He added that President Prabowo and the Foreign Minister determine which heads of state are prioritised for meetings and which are not, noting that some meetings can be conducted via telephone. ‘While we welcome all input, we must not obscure the facts of our achievements,’ Teddy concluded.
