Dinner at Dunia Sea Food
Dinner at Dunia Sea Food
From Bisnis Indonesia
On Jan. 2, my family and I went for dinner at Dunia Sea Food, located on the third floor of Diamond Mall, Tangerang, West Java.
The publicized price of Rp 6,000 per head all-you-can-eat was a point of attraction.
However, low prices can be deceptive. For example the snail served with a variety of fish smelled nasty.
When my husband had taken a second serving of a dish and was about to eat, a waiter came and said that my husband was not entitled to eat further after his plate had been collected.
Indeed, at that time, my husband's plate and those of our two children had been put aside. Mine was the only one left.
The waiter told us that only I could eat further. But I was already full.
There was no warning at the entrance that diners could not continue eating if their plates had been removed. The plates with fish scraps were removed for neatness sake.
When asked, the manager, Ari, did not want to hear about a written transparent regulation which could serve as a basis for prohibiting my husband from taking a second helping.
We were forced to pay again for one person. Why had they not prohibited my husband when he handed over a raw piece of fish to be cooked?
I would like to suggest that prospective diners be wary of the possibility of a trap behind the unwritten regulation and to be prepared to face the uncomfortable gazes of eagle-eyed waiters. Another important thing is don't forget to bring your own paper or cloth napkins.
