Diky Candra's Blusukan Activities Supported by DPR RI and DPD Members

The Tasikmalaya City Government commemorated the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday (Maulid Nabi Muhammad SAW) while also celebrating the 81st anniversary of Indonesian independence across 69 urban villages. The activities, which reached down to the neighbourhood (RW) level, became a moment for government officials to be present and directly serve the community.

Deputy Mayor of Tasikmalaya, Raden Diky Candranegara, stated that the series of Maulid Nabi and Independence Day commemorations represented a form of dedication to serving residents. Notably, Diky’s blusukan (impromptu field visits) to the community received full support from Lola Nelria Oktavia, a member of Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) from the NasDem Party representing West Java electoral district XI, as well as Alfiansyah Bustomi, a member of the Regional Representative Council (DPD RI), popularly known as Komeng.

“We always try to attend various activities at the RW level to greet residents, whether for Independence Day commemorations or the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday. Whenever I have time, I attend. Although physically tiring, meeting residents and sharing happiness is both a remedy and a source of motivation,” said Diky Candranegara on Tuesday (25/8).

Diky explained that Lola Nelria Oktavia’s involvement in his activities was often realised through the distribution of aid. The closeness with the NasDem Party cadre was considered to have a positive impact on residents, especially given Diky’s limitations in terms of direct budget policy.

“Alhamdulillah, the activities we carry out always receive support from Mrs Lola, who often entrusts aid when visiting. These activities bring happiness to residents, especially since I personally am not a budget user and have no policy authority over it,” he added.

Aid from Lola Nelria Oktavia covered various activities, from independence thanksgiving events to Maulid Nabi commemorations. Several locations receiving assistance included Al Mubarok Mosque on Jalan Bantar, Argasari Urban Village, Cihideung District, as well as Kampung Cicantel, Mulyasari Urban Village, Tamansari District.

In Kampung Cicantel, residents independently pooled funds to establish a madrasah, which was then supported with additional assistance. The aid also targeted elderly groups in the area.

“In Kampung Cicantel, residents established a madrasah after collecting funds, and assistance was also provided for the elderly. May Allah reward Mrs Lola’s kindness. Whoever wishes to share, even if the amount is not the benchmark, the most important thing is having concern for others,” concluded Diky.
