Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Meutya Hafid stated that digitalisation in the supply chain, from production to the distribution of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme, ensures the programme reaches its intended beneficiaries accurately. “Every stage of the programme can be monitored transparently and measurably. This is important so that the benefits of the Free Nutritious Meals Programme are truly felt by the communities in need,” Meutya said during a visit to the Al Ittifaq Pesantren in Ciwidey, Bandung Regency, West Java, on Saturday. Through an integrated digital system, the government can monitor the availability of food ingredients, maintain product quality, and ensure timely distribution. Data-based supervision also allows for real-time monitoring, thereby reducing the potential for distribution deviations. This approach simultaneously improves logistical efficiency. The collected data serves as the basis for faster and more accurate decision-making, while strengthening accountability in programme implementation on the ground. Beyond distribution, digitalisation also opens up broader economic impacts. A well-organised supply chain provides market opportunities for farmers, livestock breeders, and local businesses. Domestic food production can be absorbed sustainably, driving economic circulation in the regions. Furthermore, Meutya stated that the technology used must be practical and suited to field needs. “Digitalisation must not become a new burden, but rather a tool that facilitates and enhances productivity,” she said. Sustainability aspects are also a key focus in programme implementation. Good management, from quality control and supply chain optimisation to the utilisation of production waste, is deemed essential to maintain consistent availability of nutritious food while minimising waste. Programme evaluations are conducted periodically based on field data. Input from the regions will form the basis for policy refinements to keep the programme adaptive and responsive. “Proven effective practices will be expanded, while those needing improvement will continue to be refined. This is our commitment to ensure the programme runs optimally,” Meutya concluded.
