Digitalisation Becomes the Growth Engine for Bank Mandiri (BMRI) at the Start of 2026
JAKARTA — Digital transformation is increasingly becoming the main foundation for the growth of the national banking industry. This is reflected in the performance of PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk (BMRI), which in the first quarter of 2026 not only recorded solid profits but also demonstrated significant acceleration in strengthening its digital ecosystem. Amid global pressures due to rising geopolitical tensions and international financial market volatility, Bank Mandiri booked a consolidated net profit of Rp 15.4 trillion, or a 16.6% year-on-year (YoY) growth. Bank Mandiri’s Finance & Strategy Director Novita Widya Anggraini emphasised that strengthening digital capabilities not only serves as a service channel but has evolved into the main infrastructure for reaching all levels of the national economy. “All of Bank Mandiri’s digital capabilities are essentially a means for Bank Mandiri to reach customers effectively and efficiently in operations, even to the outermost islands, supporting inclusive economic growth for the community,” Novita stated during the first quarter 2026 public expose in Jakarta on Tuesday (21/4/2026). Bank Mandiri’s digital strengthening is clearly evident from the growth in users and transaction volumes on its main platform. This growth is not only driven by an increase in the number of new users but also by higher usage intensity. Bank Mandiri recorded an average acquisition of around 27,000 new users per day, indicating that digital banking penetration is still continuously developing. On the activity side, the Livin’ transaction frequency also increased, growing 13% (YoY) to 1.24 billion transactions. To strengthen these services, Bank Mandiri also introduced Livin’ Call, a toll-free call centre service directly integrated into the application. This service is available 24 hours a day and can be accessed without additional costs, including from abroad, thereby expanding customer accessibility. Not only in the individual segment, Bank Mandiri’s digital transformation also targets the business segment through the Kopra by Mandiri platform. As of the first quarter of 2026, this platform has served around 335,000 registered users, growing 27% (YoY).
