Digital Transformation Reshapes Business Operational Management Strategies
Digital transformation is enabling companies to do more than just adopt software to replace manual tasks; it is restructuring how data and operational processes are managed. The use of various applications to handle customers, sales, transactions, internal tasks, and accounting is driving the need for systems capable of connecting these functions.
In practice, the increasing number of software tools used can lead to data and workflows being scattered across different systems. This condition makes data integration one of the critical aspects companies must consider when executing digitalisation strategies.
A one-stop AI platform approach is an emerging model to connect various operational functions within a single ecosystem. Through an integrated system, customer data, sales activities, team tasks, transactions, and administrative processes can be utilised cross-functionally.
Renr.AI is developing a platform with several functions, including customer relationship management, workspaces, customer conversations, commerce, and workflow automation. All these functions utilise a database connected within a single software environment.
CEO of Renr.AI, Bangkit Sanjaya, stated that the need for system integration arises alongside the increasing volume of data used in business activities. “Businesses require comprehensive access to customer data, especially to understand purchase and transaction histories. However, that data can be managed further through the use of AI and automation,” Bangkit said in a written statement.
Integration can be applied, for example, to managing customer communications. Conversation data from various channels can be gathered into a single inbox and linked with CRM, ensuring that information regarding customer profiles and transaction histories is available alongside the conversation.
The use of AI is also entering the realm of task automation. Through the ‘Flow’ feature, a specific event can be set as a trigger to execute the next process. A new order, for instance, can trigger a notification via WhatsApp while simultaneously updating customer data.
This pattern ensures that digitalisation is not merely about moving manual work to software. Data from one activity can serve as the basis for the next process based on rules established by the company.
Renr.AI Sales representative, Putra, noted that ease of configuration is a key consideration in implementing AI-based software. “Ideally, the setup should be made easy with a visual editor and AI assistance. Once they understand how to use it, customers can proceed with settings independently using available templates,” said Putra.
For companies, integrating various functions is also related to the efficiency of system management. Every application requires configuration, maintenance, and time for users to understand its operation. When a process requires data from multiple departments, a connected system can reduce the need to switch between different applications.
This shift also expands the use of technology from specific functions to a component of overall operational management. CRM can be used to manage customer relationships, workspaces handle internal activities, while transaction systems manage products, orders, payments, and inventory.
Automation then connects these various activities based on predefined workflows. In this way, a number of administrative tasks can be performed automatically once certain conditions are met.
CTO of Renr.AI, Erlangga Fauzan Rezagani, stated that technological development is also directed towards automating administrative tasks that have traditionally required repetitive processes. “We are subsequently adding features such as invoice automation, tax filing, and increasingly automated accounting with the help of AI to make business operations easier,” explained Erlangga.
For companies running many digital functions, system integration is a key option for managing data flows and workflows. Implementation must still be adjusted to the scale of the business, operational complexity, type of data, and the specific needs of each company.
In the next stage, digital transformation will not only be determined by the amount of technology a company uses, but also by the ability to connect that technology with business processes. Data integration, automation, and operational management are becoming part of corporate strategies to ensure that digitalisation impacts how work is done, rather than merely adding more software.
