Digital Transactions Continue to Grow Strong, QRIS Surges 108% in April
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Bank Indonesia (BI) has recorded that growth in digital economy and financial transactions in April 2026 remains high, underpinned by payment systems that are safe, smooth, and reliable. This was stated by BI Governor Perry Warjiyo in the briefing on the results of the BI Board of Governors meeting, Wednesday (20 June 2026).
“The volume of digital payments transactions reached 5.15 billion transactions, growing 42.86% YoY in April 2026, supported by the expansion of digital payment acceptance,” Perry said. “The volume of transactions via mobile apps and the internet grew by 15.92% YoY and 22.95% YoY, respectively, including QRIS transactions which continued to grow strongly, rising by 108.43% YoY.”
Perry noted that the positive performance was supported by increases in the number of users and merchants. In terms of infrastructure, the volume of retail transactions processed through BI-FAST reached 490 million transactions, up 46.09% YoY, with a transaction value of Rp 1,219 trillion in April 2026.
Meanwhile, the volume of high-value transactions processed through BI-RTGS stood at 0.91 million transactions, up 25.72% YoY, with BI-RTGS transaction value rising 14.55% YoY to Rp 17,520 trillion in April 2026.
On the currency management side, the Currency in Circulation (UYD) grew 14.61% YoY to Rp 1,301 trillion in April 2026.
