Changes in how people plan their journeys are reshaping the way they meet their mobility needs. Digital channels are increasingly used to search for information, compare service options, and make vehicle reservations more practically. Data from the Indonesia Car Rental Market Size & Share Analysis – Growth Trends and Forecast (2026–2031) by Mordor Intelligence shows that online channels accounted for 68.84% of the car rental market in Indonesia in 2025. This figure indicates that digital access has become an important part of the vehicle booking process, as consumers grow more accustomed to the ease of comparing services and making digital payments.

This shift in behaviour is encouraging transport providers to expand their digital reservation channels to reach customers with different needs and habits. Bluebird Group, through its rental service Goldenbird, is broadening digital access via the MyBluebird app and a web reservation platform. Both channels are presented as complementary options, covering everything from the initial information search to the booking process.

PT Blue Bird Tbk Chief Marketing Officer, Monita Moerdani, stated that every customer has different needs and habits when choosing transport services. Some are still in the early exploration stage and require information before deciding on a suitable service. Others already know their needs and want a seamless reservation process integrated with the Bluebird Group ecosystem. ‘For us, ease of reservation is not just about providing digital access, but also offering channel choices that suit customer needs. Through MyBluebird and web reservation, customers can choose the most comfortable way to access and book Goldenbird, while still upholding the service standards and quality experience that define trust in the Bluebird Group,’ Monita said.

The MyBluebird app offers a more integrated and personal experience, especially for customers already using various Bluebird Group services. Through the app, customers can access their journey history, manage trips, and save payment method data. This channel is also equipped with features supporting mobility needs, such as in-app chat with the driver and real-time booking status monitoring. MyBluebird also provides a Subscription feature offering travel voucher packages for regular mobility needs at more economical prices. Furthermore, customers can collect and redeem EZPoint earned from trips with Bluebird Group services for exclusive benefits from various brands.

Meanwhile, the web reservation channel provides easier and more practical access, particularly for customers new to the Goldenbird service. Through this channel, customers can find service information, view and compare fleet options along with estimated costs, and then make a reservation via guest mode. The web reservation also makes it easier for customers who discover Goldenbird through digital searches, including foreign tourists needing transport services while in Indonesia. Both channels have complementary functions. MyBluebird provides a more integrated experience for users already within the Bluebird Group ecosystem, while web reservation offers more open access for new customers considering the rental service.

The expansion of digital reservation access also accommodates the diverse needs of people using rental vehicles. Goldenbird can be used for various travel needs, ranging from airport transfers and full-day meeting agendas to business trips and holiday explorations with family. To meet these needs, customers can choose from three fleet categories: Goldenbird Standard, Goldenbird Premium, and Goldenbird Luxury. These options are tailored to the desired level of comfort and travel experience. Flexibility is also provided in terms of payment, aligning with Bluebird Group’s Multi-Product, Multi-Channel, and Multi-Payment (3M) strategy. Through the web reservation platform, customers can choose payment methods including credit cards, debit cards, virtual accounts, or QRIS. Meanwhile, customers booking via MyBluebird can use the payment methods available in the app. Customers can also enjoy promotions on both channels and various additional benefits.

Monita Moerdani concluded that expanding digital channels is not solely about providing booking access, but also about how the service can adapt to the changing mobility needs of the public. ‘For us, the most important thing is ensuring the Goldenbird service can be present to answer various mobility needs, with easier access and a consistent experience. By offering flexible channel, service, and payment options, we aim to keep Goldenbird relevant to the evolving needs and lifestyles of the public,’ Monita said.
