Badung (ANTARA) - Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs (Menkomdigi) Meutya Hafid stated that there are still tourist areas in Bali that have not received internet signals. Meutya expressed this at Ngurah Rai Airport in Badung on Tuesday, after directly hearing complaints from tourists taking advantage of the long Nyepi and Eid al-Fitr holidays on the Island of the Gods. “There was indeed valuable input earlier, namely not only an increase in communication frequency that causes the internet network to slow down a bit, but there are areas in Bali that indeed do not have signals yet,” she said. The tourist area in question is Nusa Penida, a separate landmass in Klungkung Regency, which is estimated to face internet network difficulties due to the terrain that requires attention from mobile operators. “So it’s not because of congestion from cellular operator traffic, but more about some tourist spots that are felt to need improvement for their connectivity connections,” the Digital Minister added.
