Digital Minister Ensures Enforcement of PP Tunas Will Not Stop at Eight Platforms

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs (Menkomdigi) Meutya Hafid has assured that the enforcement of PP Tunas as a regulation to protect children in the digital space will not stop at the initial eight platforms and will apply to all digital platforms operating in Indonesia.

This was stated by Meutya after officially announcing that Roblox has finally fully complied with the PP Tunas regulations by meeting the provisions for child account settings and implementing age verification.

“We will not stop at these eight platforms. Because in the digital realm, if we focus on or intervene in one or two, they will shift to others. Therefore, in the name of fair rule enforcement, this will apply to everyone,” said Meutya at the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs office in Jakarta on Thursday.

After those eight platforms have fulfilled their obligations, Meutya said the government is giving time to other digital platforms to complete their self-assessment regarding their platform risks until 6 June 2026.

According to Meutya, the implementation of PP Tunas in Indonesia indeed has a different approach from other countries because it uses a risk-based approach.

Therefore, to make PP Tunas run smoothly, the active role of digital platform owners in assessing the risks of their services is necessary.

Later, after digital platforms meet the PP Tunas self-assessment provisions, the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs will conduct a re-evaluation to ensure that the platforms’ reports are accurate or not.

“We hope that by June (6 June 2026), fellow platforms will immediately submit their self-assessments to Komdigi for us to verify,” said Meutya.
