Digital Innovation and Diverse Menus Enhance Hajj Consumption Services
Makkah (ANTARA) - Saudi Arabia’s Hajj Organising Officers (PPIH) have introduced significant positive innovations in consumption services for Indonesian prospective pilgrims this year, particularly through the implementation of an integrated digitalisation system and increased food menu variety.
Head of the Consumption Division of Saudi PPIH, Indri Hapsari, during a visit to one of the catering kitchens in Makkah on Tuesday, stated that consumption data management this year has begun to be fully digitally integrated.
“This digitalisation system covers recording distribution, monitoring portion quantities, to service verification. This breakthrough greatly aids in accelerating coordination and direct handling in the field,” said Indri.
In addition to digital transformation, Indri explained that the menu variations provided are far more diverse. Menu compilation is done meticulously, considering nutritional balance, variety of side dishes, and adjustments to the tastes of Indonesian prospective pilgrims.
In the Makkah region, consumption services for Indonesian prospective pilgrims are managed through cooperation with 51 provider kitchens. All these kitchens have met the strict specifications and standards set by the Indonesian Government, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, and Saudi Authorities, to supply needs in 177 hotels for 527 flight groups (kloter).
Regarding the service scheme during the Hajj peak, Indri outlined that prospective pilgrims will be directly welcomed with three bottles of welcome drinking water upon arrival in Arafah. During the critical phase on 8 to 9 Dzulhijjah, consumption is served up to five meals. Prospective pilgrims are also provided with complete consumption packages before being transported to Muzdalifah.
Meanwhile, for the Mina phase running from the 10th to the morning of the 13th Dzulhijjah, prospective pilgrims will receive timely consumption services with quantities up to ten meals.
All service providers under the syarikah operate under strict supervision of Saudi PPIH. Until 10 May 2026, a total of 1,193,534 food boxes have been successfully distributed smoothly to all prospective pilgrims in Makkah.
