Digital Gold Physical Market Transactions Surge to Rp 172.7 Trillion
JAKARTA – The Indonesia Commodity & Derivatives Exchange (ICDX) reported that digital physical gold market transactions grew 338 per cent over the first half of 2026 compared with the same period in 2025.
Transaction volume reached 66,372,367 grams, up from 15,149,074 grams in the same period a year earlier. In terms of value, transactions in the first half of 2026 were recorded at Rp 172.7 trillion, a 601 per cent increase compared with the same period in 2025, which stood at Rp 24.6 trillion.
“This transaction growth reflects the public’s steadily increasing interest in using digital physical gold trading as an alternative investment,” said Nursalam, Acting Chief Executive of ICDX, in an official statement in Jakarta on Saturday (25/7/2026).
As an exchange, he added, ICDX will continue to safeguard trading independence and transparency, as well as carry out continuous literacy and education programmes involving all stakeholders, from regulators to digital gold traders.
Regarding digital gold traders, there are currently six digital gold traders that are members of the ICDX, namely PT Indogold Makmur Sejahtera (Indogold), PT Indonesia Logam Pratama (Treasury), PT Laku Emas Indonesia (Laku Emas), PT Syariah Koin Indonesia (ShariaCoin), PT Aneka Tambang (Persero) Tbk (Brankas LM), and PT Pluang Emas Sejahtera (Pluang).
Concerning Indonesia’s gold ecosystem, ICDX has become part of the Indonesia Bullion Market Association (IBMA), an association that promotes the development of a credible, efficient and sustainable bullion market through collaboration, standardisation, education and strengthening of the national industrial ecosystem.
Besides ICDX, IBMA members include PT Bank Syariah Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, PT Pegadaian (Persero), PT Amman Mineral Internasional Tbk, PT Untung Bersama Sejahtera, PT Laku Emas Indonesia, PT Brinks Solutions Indonesia, PT Central Mega Kencana, PT Hartadinata Abadi Tbk, PT Pegadaian Galeri Dua Empat (Galeri 24), and PT Sentral Kreasi Kencana.
Anang Samsudin, Chairman of the Indonesian Digital Gold Traders Association (PPEDI), said the growth in digital gold transactions in the first half of 2026 was driven by several factors, including increased public literacy about digital gold and high gold price volatility.
As a result, Anang said, digital gold has become one of investors’ options for diversifying assets or holding it as part of long-term financial planning. As Indonesia’s digital gold association, PPEDI stated that it always supports its members in improving public literacy and collaborating with various parties to expand the digital gold market in Indonesia.
“On the other hand, customer protection and security are PPEDI’s top priorities. We continue to coordinate with relevant institutions to ensure the security of customer transactions, including ensuring the availability of physical gold assets at a 1:1 ratio as the underlying asset of the gold held by investors,” he said.
